The general term for the products obtained by high-temperature treatment of magnesia raw materials such as fused magnesia magnesite to achieve sintering degree. The magnesia produced by using high-temperature equipment such as vertical kilns and rotary kilns for one-time calcination or two-step calcination process, using natural magnesite as raw material, is called sintered magnesia; The fused magnesia formed by melting magnesite and other raw materials in an electric arc furnace and cooling them to a molten state is called electric fused magnesia; The magnesium oxide extracted from seawater is called seawater magnesia. Magnesia sand is one of the most important raw materials for refractory materials, used to manufacture various magnesia bricks, magnesia alumina bricks, ramming materials, furnace repair materials, etc. Containing a high amount of impurities, used for paving steelmaking furnace bottoms, etc.

Electric fused magnesia is produced by melting selected A-grade natural magnesite or high-purity lightly burned magnesium particles in an electric arc furnace. This product has high purity, large crystal particles, dense structure, strong slag resistance, good thermal shock stability, and is an excellent high-temperature electrical insulation material. It is also an important raw material for producing high-end magnesia bricks, magnesia carbon bricks, and amorphous refractory materials.
